Why is the sky green during a tornado?

0 votes
In light of recent cataclisms and such (a little into global warming later, i have many questions in this field), I've always wondered why the sky turns green during a tornado. Does it have something to do with highly charged particles? Clearly, green wavelengths in the light spectrum get reflected , while the rest of the spectrum gets absorbed by particles in the air. but why? Something to do with charged water?
